Youth Ministry

“Youth ministry is not about getting things accomplished – only the act of God can bring about the transformation we seek. Youth ministry is about participating deeply in young people’s lives as we await, together in suffering & joy, the coming of God.” –Andrew Root

Welcome!

The youth ministry of UPC exists to model the love of Jesus Christ in the lives of our youth, to connect them to other students and solid adults, and to support your family during these formative years. Our aim is to create a safe place for all youth to feel welcomed, loved, and accepted for who they are, a place where they are free to be their true selves as we grow together in faith.

Should you have any questions about youth ministry programs or ways you can get involved, please contact our pastor, Brandon Lewis, at brandonl.upc@gmail.com

Wednesday Evening Youth Group | 6:00-7:30

Youth group is a place where youth can laugh, learn, grow, and be comfortable asking tough questions about life and what it means to know God. It is a time and place to eat together, play, be in community, and explore the joys and challenges of daily life. Meets every Wednesday evening 6:00-7:30 pm in the Youth Room at UPC.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation, as a reaffirmation of the baptismal covenant, calls us to make specific promises to God, ourselves, and the church. Our vision for confirmation is about discipleship—helping form and shape each other in faith, exploring what it means to follow Jesus Christ, engaging and wrestling with the Bible, nurturing relationships, and knowing all along that we are on a journey with an involved and loving Creator.

Students (typically grades 8-10) have the opportunity to experience an exciting process of faith expression and the meaning of discipleship through the instruction and guidance of several great members of UPC. Spending time with our mentors and crafting a statement of faith are a few of things we do to deepen our understanding of God’s love for us.

Contact Pastor Brandon Lewis for more information about each year’s confirmation plan and schedule.
