About Us

United Presbyterian Church of Albany seeks to be a multi-generational congregation that follows Christ and has an impact on our community and world. Our church will nurture members, attendees and neighbors and put God’s word into action when and where God calls us to respond. Love, compassion and humility, guide and characterize this church. We use our gifts to support activities and missions and to respond to challenges with love and passion for all.

We recently celebrated the centennial of our beautiful facility and are committed to maintain it for worship and community use. We seek to mindfully respond to the times and enhance worship to the glory of God. The church will reach into the community, engaging children and youth to be of service to God.

Whether you are new to the area or just looking to find a place where you belong, we invite you to worship with us this Sunday. Take a look at some of the many activities we offer for all ages.

We have a Sabbath Circle book study group which meets every Tuesday morning and a Women's book study group that meets every Thursday afternoon.  Each season we choose a new book written by a Christian author.  We have thought provoking discussions that leads us all to discover the insightful and spiritual lessons chapter by chapter.

Perhaps you are creative or expressive by nature and want to contribute your talents to our church.  We have a wonderful choir which meets every Wednesday night for practice and you can sing beautiful music each Sunday.  If you play a special instrument you can join our praise band or you can perform a special hymn one Sunday.

Do you have a desire to make a difference in our world?  You can volunteer in any of our mission activities that supports our local community social service organizations like helping box food for the hungry at the LInn-Benton Food Share monthly.  You could get involved in an international mission like our Birds mission in India.

We welcome all ages of children and we provide Christian education programs.  Children can explore through playing, creating and learning about God through stories and activities geared to the age of the child. We offer a youth summer camp each year and we hold Youth Group meetings throughout the school year on Wednesday evenings.

If you are experiencing something difficult and just want someone to talk to, our Pastor or Pastoral Assistant are available certain days throughout the week and you can call to set up a time to visit with one of them.

We want you to feel welcome and we invite you to worship with us this Sunday.  Service starts at 10:00 a.m. Stay a little while after service and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea or cocoa and a sweet treat and then we can meet you.  We hope you feel like our church is where you belong.
