Chris Misa is a computer scientist, sound engineer, computer musician, and keyboardist from Chicago, IL. He started producing studio albums in high school with groups of friends and fellow musicians in a variety of genres.
In college, he became seriously engrossed in electronic music composition and computer-based sonification. His pieces focus on using sound to give an alternative expression to complex structures like protein models or abstract paintings.
In addition to sound engineering and music, Chris is also keenly interested in computer networks like the Internet and the research questions surrounding network monitoring and management. He is currently a PhD student in the University of Oregon’s department of Computer and Information Science studying the use of programmable switch hardware to improve the efficiency and capabilities of network traffic monitoring systems.
In his spare time Chris enjoys cooking, washing dishes, and reading music.
